Black Flag

In October 2016, the Descendents returned to the Hollywood Palladium following a long hiatus to support their Hypercaffium Spazzinate tour. Capturing the performance required navigating past the perimeter gates to secure space in the pit dancefloor for the opening songs before moving directly onto the stage alongside the group’s family members.

As cornerstone architects of 80s hardcore and melodic punk, Milo Aukerman, Stephen Egerton, Karl Alvarez, and Bill Stevenson delivered a tight, high-velocity 33-song setlist. This photograph was later hand-signed by all four band members, with artist Chris Shary adding an original Milo illustration directly onto the guitar speaker cabinets within the frame.

Captured on April 7, 2019, at Sabroso Fest in Dana Point, California, this photograph isolates Milo Aukerman mid-vocal, complete with his signature water jug strapped to his waist.

Backed by Stephen Egerton, Karl Alvarez, and Bill Stevenson, the band executed a multi-decade catalog set. The coastal festival environment framed one of Southern California’s defining melodic punk acts performing in their home region.

Taken inside the SST Records facility in Taylor, Texas, in 2013, this portrait documents Black Flag founder Greg Ginn alongside Mike Vallely during a promotional session for their Good For You side project.

Surrounded by stacks of vintage SST vinyl inventory, the shoot occurred while Ginn was tracking new material and Vallely was recording vocals on site. This photograph was subsequently published in Thrasher Magazine and featured in official SST album art releases.

Photographed on location outside Club Dada in Dallas, Texas, in 2016, this street portrait captures Yeti Bones, theOGM, and drummer Brandon Pertzborn prior to their evening set. The session occurred while on tour with The Dillinger Escape Plan.

The image documents the experimental industrial-punk trio in a calm moment outside the venue before their high-intensity performance later that night.
