Descendents

I shot this at the Hollywood Palladium on October 1, 2016, during the Descendents’ Hypercaffium Spazzinate tour, with the whole setlist chalked out by hand across the backdrop, song titles like COFFEE and SILLY POP and WHEN I GET OLD scrawled floor to ceiling behind the band.

Years later, when Bill Stevenson signed this print, he asked me where I’d found a handwritten setlist, since the band’s own are usually typed. I’d picked it up earlier that year at the It’s Not Dead festival. I bought “I Don’t Want to Grow Up” on vinyl when I was about thirteen, so getting to keep shooting this band, unglamorous shorts and all, and having them still be genuinely cool to me every time, is not something I take for granted.
