Ian MacKaye

In 2022, I stood at the Dischord House in Washington, DC, to photograph Ian MacKaye. This is where the DIY energy of ’80s hardcore was archived, pressed and sent out, long before the internet. Photographing the man behind Minor Threat and Fugazi at this exact location meant stepping back and letting the house set the frame.

The photo was selected to hang in the Washington, DC exhibit at the Punk Rock Museum.
