The Misfits

This contact sheet pulls frames from both of the original Misfits’ 2016 reunion shows, Denver on September 4 and Chicago on September 18, the first time Glenn Danzig, Jerry Only, and Doyle Wolfgang von Frankenstein played together as a three-piece since 1983.

Danzig kept introducing every song as “another old one,” which cracked up a crowd that was, corpse paint and devilocks included, mostly younger than the songs themselves. Right after the show, I drove around hunting for an outlet, ended up sitting on the ground with my laptop outside an ATM enclosure, and edited these down to post before I even left town.
